Just after some advice guys. Im looking for a short shift kit for my Nb. And came across this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mazda-MX5-Miata-90-97-Sh...
I know it says 90-97 but i would have thought they would be interchangeable.
Could anyone shed any more light on the subject? Thanks in advance.

I can't help on whether it will fit but I've never heard from anyone with a short shift that actually likes how it feels. The stock shift is plenty short enough and it just gets clunky if you make it shorter.
This. I had one on my mk1 (was already on when i bought it) and ended up getting it taken off as it was just too notchy / clunky... but the main thing was, for some reason, it made the gearshifter resonate terribly when you revved it hard.Waste of money.

Didn't you do some sort of DIY shift-shortening John?
yep, i seperated the gearstick (it's in two bits) cut the bottom down an inch or so and stuck the top back on. because you don't raise the fulcrum like a lot of the aftermarket short shifts, it's not clunky, just a little shorter - i really like it

I did that on my fiesta when I was 17, Hacksaw mods FTW!
