Question about replacement sill repair panels
Discussion
Hi all, my OSR sill is shot and needs welding whether that be a piece cut from the replacement rear wing/sill panel, or fabricated by a bodyshop.
However...the underside of my sill is also rusty right along the length of the seam, and I had though this may be cosmetic from water gathering along the seam but from another thread I'm told this may be rusting from inside out also, I'm preparing myself for the worst.
Anyway, looking at the sill panels below, am I right in thinking the front and rear of the sill repair panel tuck underneath the front and rear wing panels - i.e. if I'm going to use that sill panel the front and rear wings need to come off the car?

Thanks, I thought I'd probably HAVE to use the whole panel to keep the strength as they form a double skin beneath front and rear wings?
Admittedly I know nothing about welding, I guess my concern is that the more panels I have that are cut and welded, the less rigid the car is, hence my thoughts of using the whole panel - am I mistaken?

I don't know what you can do to the inner panels, mine just had the outers welded up, apparently it was OK inside although I didn't see it myself.
Have a look through this thread (if you have a strong stomach!)

How hard is it to remove a complete rear wing?
Depends on how good your angle grinder is
They're a weld in panel, as opposed to the fronts which are bolt on.
