Hi all, have done a search but with no luck - has anyone here bought one of BBR's 'renovated' turbo'd Mk 1 5s? The idea sounds great but I'm a little concerned that the turbo might spoil the driving experience. On the other hand, coming from a V8 Aston, I don't think the standard motor will supply enough go.

Any comments appreciated.

Testdrive one?

There's plenty of turbo'd MK1's about and BBR's kit is merely a re-badged BEGi turbo kit (from the USA).

Turboing an MX5 does not ruin it in any way shape or form.

On a PH Hoon earlier in the year I had to overtake a DB9 that was holding me up. More surprising perhaps as I had the SC bypassed at the time as I was halfway between replacing the piggy-back ecu with a standalone so had standard power biggrin
With the SC running as it is now there are few cars on any PH hoon that can get away from me. A small chuckable RWD sportscar with forced induction is just so quick on real roads that you will wonder why you ever thought that a big heavy car with a V8 was ever even a good idea laugh
