Had a nice run out on Saturday morning. Stamford, A6121 towards Bourne, A151 to Colsterworth, B676 to Melton Mowbray (McD's Breakfast), A606 towards Oakham, local roads to Cottesmore, local roads to Stamford. NICE!

Was with my mate in his Chimeara 500. I had some catching up to do now and then but with the roads as they were I wasn't far off the pace and there was a lot of sideways fun to be had.

Cracking way to wake up on a freezing saturday morning and a lot to be said for having heated seats!

My folks live near Market Harborough, my favourite Saturday morning run is up to Melton Mowbray on the B6047 (to pick up a pork pie for lunch) then across to Uppingham and back down to Harborough on the B664.

Yes. Sport and some specials.

Were they simply normal high backed 2.5 seats with heating elements added, or are the seats fundamentally different inside, do you know? If they were standard seats with heating elements, can they be bought and retro-fitted?

I just use a cheap heated cover that plugs into the fag lighter socket.

I think they are normal enough high-back seats with heating elements. I don't see why you couldn't fit them to any other MX5 but you'd need switches & wiring. They seems to be thermostat controlled too (well the do on mine - they continually heat up then switch off for a minute and then heat again...), I don't know if that's in the seat, switches or elsewhere (or if my switch/wiring is faulty)...

Mine's a NB2.5 with factory fitted high back heated seats. They are fantastic on a cold day, and good for the game "how long before she realises I turned her seat heater on". This is a game of stealth, they're sneakily activated during a gear change. hehe

Craikeybaby, good route! It's a great part of the world for MX5 ownershipthumbup
