MX5 buying advice

Hey folks, is anyone able to offer some advice.

The O/H is looking to change her car.
She's not really into cars at all but i've managed to convince her that a mx5 will be a much better option than a 1.2 clio

Anyway she's found a 2002 1.6 MX5 thats done just over 40,000 miles in the classifieds that she quite likes.

Is there anything in particular to look out for? Or even any specific service requirements that should be considered?

Oh and is there any particular models / special additions that have height adjustment in the steering wheel?

The only one that was local to us that we could get a look around was a bit older and didn't seem to have any adjustment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

No, the MX5 does not come with any sort of steering wheel adjustment. At least the 1989 to 2005 (Mk1/2/2.5) models don't. I don't know about later Mk3+ cars.

You sure about that chap? Mk1 does not have any adjustment of the steering wheel

Thats the problem we've had been in one mk2 that had it and a few others that didn't. All mk3's seem to have it but are just a bit more expensive.

Really? I'm pretty sure it's not on any Mk1/2/2.5 MX5. I've not heard of any that have it and have certainly never seen it.
Def not on our Mk1 94 import, my old UK Mk1 98 or my current UK Mk2.5 Sport.

I'm rather certain that no Mk1 or Mk2 has an adjustable steering column... Its very much bolted to a big cross member that runs under the dash!
