Adjusting P5 PureDrive suspension
Discussion
Right, this may be a ridiculous question but how do i adjust the suspension and how much can it be lowered by? Do i need to adjust the damper (if thats even possible on the puredrive)if so by how much? How much do i then need to wind the springs? I just want to be clear on what im doing before altering anything.
The mx5 they were on sat very nicely but they are now on an Exocet which weighs considerably less and as a result the ride height has increased. Im lookin at dropping it approx 30mm.
Thanks in advance,
Mat

it should just be a case of winding them out a bit until you get the desired ride height. I dont know for sure but if the car is significantly lighter you should possibly be looking at different spring rates and damper settings.

Yeah, they are just standard threaded collar shocks. There are 2 adjuster rings that will be tightened against each other to lock them in place. Loosen the lower one to unlock and wind it out of the way then adjust the top one using a c-spanner.
They are adjustable too - there should be an adjuster knob. They do have a habit of seizing though, especially when open to the elements as they will be on your car so I'd give them a good soak in plus-gas before trying to adjust them and maybe try to find some way to protect them.
