Anybody replaced a Prop Shaft?
Discussion
Ordered a new one from fleabay to try and cure my clunking noise, is changing the propshaft on a Mk1 a job I can do in the driveway or is it one best left to a mechanic?
Had a quick google and a search of the usual sites but can't find any sort of guide for it - anybody on here done the job before? Any hints and tips would be usefull!
Cheers,
Nikos.

It's actually very easy, unbolt the prop from the diff, (4 nuts/bolts, use the handbrake to stop the prop spinning). There's then enough play to push it further into the box and then wiggle the prop away from the diff.
Easy job to do on the drive will take 20 minutes assuming everything comes undone OK.
