Brakes I've covered, engine I've covered, now to sort the suspension out...

I'm gonna book a couple of days off work and give the chassis an overhaul on my car, about to start ordering/collecting bits.

Any suggestions I've missed? Any jobs worthwhile doing?

Remove all parts/arms, clean up, de-rust + paint.
Bushes where deemed required, not going down polybush route though on the arms.
4x Dampers, obviously.
Droplinks, 4 corners,
ARB Mounting Bushes
8x Eccentric bolts (and a trip to Rodders after to set it all back up again).

Springs, if undamaged, will probably be painted and refit - they seem to be ok, no uneven sagging, and there not know for cracking.

I was wondering about Track rod-ends and ball joints - car in on 100k+ miles so likely to not last too long..

Also - does any know what Diameter std ARB's are for Mk2, and if the 'sport' models have a stiffer setup?

A Mildly uprated ARB setup is all I'm tempted to change - with this, plus new shock on all 4 corners it should be fantastic to drive again. Bear in mind car is primarily a road/hooning car - many more miles spent on bumpy B-roads than track!

And finally - any suggestions for Dampers - OEM level or possibly adjustable, looking at KYB range really.

Cheapest appears to be from buypartsby unless anyone has any other suggestions. I may also look at the cost of buying parts from FM in the states as the exhchange rate is slightly more in our favour than it has been in recent years.

A nice mod I saw, that I am certainly tempted by is to make the ARB drop links rose-jointed. A guy on one of the MX-5 forums (I'll try and dig up the link) gave a list of what you needed to do to make them and how to fit, a nice little mod for not a huge amount of expense (around 50/corner as I recall).
What sort of budget do you have for dampers?

I've just fitted a full GAZ Pro coilover setup (today) so I'll update you once I've used it over the next few days and had a go with a few different settings.

Steve heath engineering do the Rose jointed ARB drop links. £26 for the 4 so cheaper than the MAzda ones and excellent quality.

They look like the best part of £150 for the four to me, am I looking in the wrong place?

Has anyone fitted the Steve Heath Engineering ARB droplinks? Worth the money? I need to refresh mine and they look like a good upgrade.
