1993(K) Eunos. It has a decat pipe and doesn't pass the non-decat emission test. Is it going to fail the MOT on the emissions or not having the cat anymore?

So - it cant pass the correct no catalytic converter emmissions test? If its being tested correctly then Im not sure that adding a cat would actually help.

What are the test results?

Right and wrong, but mostly wrong. All cars have an emmissions test, but non-type approved cars registered before August 1995 take a pre-cat test.

Any reasonably fit car should pass this.

Sorry I meant it does pass the non-cat test but not the cat test. I thought the cut-off was 1992?

For type approved cars it is, but not for an Eunos. Providing that the date of first use is before the 31st of July 1995, then you take a pre-cat test.

If the MOT tester doesnt realise this then he needs to call the helpline, and theyll set him straight.

Save this:

So judging by what's up here a 1994 Eunos (L reg) should be allowed a de-cat too?

Anthing registered before the 31st of July 1995 that isnt type approved takes the pre-cat test.
