Retro-fit cruise control?
Discussion
Hi,
I have a Eunos 1.8 which we're planning to take on a road trip through France in the summer. Due to my advancing years I have an aching right ankle after a reasonably long drive, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend an aftermarket cruise control 'kit'?
Alternatively, I could ask my wife to drive...
Regards,
Dom

According to Wikipedia, the NA could be specified with cruise control from new (part of the "B" package, amongst others). I don't know if that means that most of the wiring is already in place in all cars, but if so it may be possible to find the bits you need either new from Mazda or second hand from a breakers. Failing that there are plenty of after market units out there, so it shouldn't be too hard to find one that fits your requirements.
One for sale on Nutz.....unless it`s already gone!

Miata/LHD after the 93 which is a 1.5 series when they put the indicator/control stalks up higher (with a bend) had cruise control option but not on any RHD NA. The early 1.6 NA had straight stalks and never had cruise control. So no RHD NA cruise control from factory.. I did look for a while.
Aftermarket has been done, the factory one used a vacuum actuator and is pretty simple, the more complex and probably common type now has an electric actuator. Anyway simple for alarm type autoelectric company to retrofit. It is on one of my "to do list" as getting to Europe is a pain.
