Hi Guys,

Had no idea there was such a large MX5 community..found you all when doing a spot of googling smile

Anyhow im bored of my current Seat Ibiza and most things in my price range are essentially the same car with a slightly different shell on it so looking for something a bit different.

Really liking the idea of the MX5 and have been looking around locally.

Found this, http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2010... (apologies if im breaking any rules by posting the link..checked the rules and didnt see anything but please remove if so)

Euphonic appears to be some kind of special edition? Presumably this is just a few extra features and wouldnt be a pain trying to get spares or anything should the need arise? Also is the price about right for what it is? Would this fall under the catagorey of mark 2.5?

Incidentally after reading here im now completely sting myself about rust so will check that when I go to see it. Anything else to look at other than making sure the roof doesnt leak etc?

Any advice would be most appreciated

Price is a little steep
I dont know much about mk2 change over although I believe the change was in 04, plenty of guides online.
Also, not sure about LSD's on these?

Change from Mk2 to Mk2.5 was in 2001. If it has single-unit headlights then it's Mk2 (H4), dual-unit is Mk2.5 (9005/6).
That price doesn't look that steep to me considering the low mileage and extended warranty.
Euphonic is a special edition but it's purely cosmetic, they are the same as all other MX5s under the skin wink

Odd that the window sticker says £9995 (which is massively overpriced) but the advert price says £4490 (which still sounds a little high unless it is in perfect condition). I wonder how long they've had it for if they were originally asking almost £10k for it!

It looks like the electric aerial is broken so either get them to replace that or factor in the cost of fixing it yourself

It's got speakers in the windblocker which are fairly sought after IIRC (I'll have them off you if you don't want them wink )

It's also got somesort of aftermarket skinny handbrake lever (which looks like it needs adjusting as it's pulled up a bit high

Good spot. It looks to me like the handbrake handle is missing altogether. Hopefully they have it somewhere...
