Morning all,

would the following wheels fit without catching the arches or rubbing whilst on lock? Mk1, with WIM lowering springs.

Front : 7J Et20, PCD 4x100, 73.1mm Bore
Rear : 8J ET15, PCD 4x100, 73.1mm Bore

I want something that will fill the arches out, with a decent lip/dish. Would this look the business? Just want to bolt on without any spacers etc...

Thanks

Steve

The standard whhels are 6J with an ET of 45.

So front wheels are an inch wider, so will stick 12.5mm further out based puely on width. ET20 will cause 25mm stick out, so thats 37.5mm all together. Stick your front wheels on lock both ways and see if you have that sort of gap left.

ReaR wheels are two inches wider, so will stick 25mm further out based puely on width. ET15 will cause 30mm stick out, so thats 55mm all together.

Hope that helps.

Thannks for that mate - i'd better get the tape measure out before buying. I just want to make sure they can sit under standard arches still smile

I have BMW fitment BBS wheels on my mk1, 15x7j ET24 and the don't catch anything, even lowered on coilovers - so on the fronts i think you'll be alright. You might need your rear arches rolling though, but that's so commonplace now that it's become DIY'able.
