Was thinking of getting one for my mk3 but was wondering if anyone had any experience of any. I'll be taking the car on track days in the future so understand the suction holders won't suffice as they aren't allowed so was wondering what types are available and where/how they attach, plus which are the best value.

Depends on te circuit as I use my GoPro on a suction mount both in and outside the car on trackdays at Castle Combe.

It's more down to the operator than the track. Some allow suction mounts, others don't.
I have a clamp that attaches to my roll bars. Do you have anything a clamp could attach to on a Mk3? (I know you also have roll-hoops but these are covered so I don't know if they can be clamped to).

Interesting, Not sure about where to attach one which is part of the reason for asking, Maybe something will clamp to the roll hoops but I don't really want to do that unless someone has tried it beforehand (don't want to smash it all up because it isn't strong enough to manage a clamp being attached). I may just go for a cheap(ish) suction mount like the Delkin Fat Decko Mini Mount to attach to the windscreen or passenger window and if needs be look into clamps if need be in the future

If it struggles with a GoPro, I'd hate to be there in the event of a roll-over wink

it's the plastic that covers the metal bar underneath I'm worried about

That's what I have but it needs something solid to clamp on to.

I use Fast Films.

I thought they might be. I've seen Fast Films at various shows though so always think of them as being the main name/website.
