A little while ago I posted a question about group 1 child seats in a Mk2, which nobody bit at :-(

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Mothercare profess that nothing will fit due to the position of the seatbelt buckle in the car, and the obvious absence of isofix points. I've heard mention that some (late?) mk2.5 seats had isofix points, which may mean that a seat transplant is a possibility.

Can anyone confirm that they have a Mk2.5 with isofix points?

Alternatively, if anyone can provide pictures of a successfully fitted gp1 seat in a non-isofix mk2, then you would also make my day!

The Mk3 definitely has them and I believe Lazza has transplanted Mk3 seats into his 2.5.

I have but they are bolted to the floor (Not ideal for anyone who shares their car) and not wired to the airbag system so the pax airbag is disabled.

The MK2.5 ISOFix points are bolted to the rear bulkhead and poke through the gap between the backrest and the squab of the MK2.5 seats.

Fitting a set of MK2.5 seats won't provide you with ISOFix points.

Thanks folks.

Lazza - yes, I've seen your threads - some Mk3 seats would be plan C here, but I don't know if the isofix points for that are on the bulkhead rather than the seat too??

As for the Mk2.5 option, presumably it would be (physically) possible to get the isofix mountings retrofitted to the bulkhead of a Mk2, if they have the same floorplan?

I'm going to try a Britax Duoplus seatbelt mounted next, but more in hope than expectation, so advice on the above still gratefully received.

Some 2.5 cars do have isofix, see here.

I`m not sure about the retro fitment of the brackets. There appear to be plenty advertised on autotrader with isofix though.

Well well - the Britax Duoplus fitted. Panic over, we can keep the car... smile
