What suspension set up ?

Hi everyone im Looking at doing abit of work to my 1st mx5 mk2 1.6 but not sure what suspension to go for ? . I modified the suspension on my old Suzuki swift sport with a set of BC coilovers and it handled amazing but after driving my mx5 I can't see spending a lot of money on coilovers would make a massive difference because they are such a well set up car anyway and as I only really want a good fast road set up I'm not sure weather to go for a set of good springs or upgraded shocks and spring set up ? Iv got a full strut brace kit and iv order a set of t1r tyres and I'm getting the geo done on It. So any suggestions on suspention would be great And would help a lot.
