Finally back in the world of mx5's after a brief, and regrettable, fling with a 2.5 Z4 BMW.
Collecting my mk1 jap import 1.8 on Sunday and am intrigued by what I've actually bought ? It has tan leather and a wooden nardi wheel. Is it a vspec ? I've only seen 1.6 ones advertised so unsure if it's something else ?
++ am I right to think as it's a 1.8 I have an LSD as standard ?

Can't wait to get it home, the only person who will be happier will be the man from Natwest as my credit card is likely to take a pasting on the mx5parts website !!!

avoid the chrome on mx5parts (or anywhere else), just get the good stuff. that's money well spent smile keep £100 to one side for a full wheel alignment

Thanks. On the subject of wheel alignment I had my last one done in Sheffield by some mx5 guru but I can remember the garage. Possibly a guy called Rodders ? Anyone familiar with the place so I can get the telephone number ?
The guy I'm buying the car off is retired and only uses the car for about 150 miles a year. Looking on the mot history on line it fails every year for sticky rear calipers so I'm planning a quick brake overhaul then onto the suspension so I'll be needing wheel alignment sooner rather than later.

I think technically it's refered to as a V-Special 2 if it's a 1.8. The LSD wasn't standard IIRC, but they do appear to be fitted more often than not. It should have a tan hood too. I have one too, though not with the original chrome finish alloys. Got any pictures?
