boot rack to carry a bike, kayak, surf board or why

I have designed a prototype roof rack for my Miata roadster and wondered how others thought of its use. I designed it so that it would take any rack fittings from the manufacturers Thule, Atera etc that will fit on a 25mm tube.
That it could take a mountain or road bike, surf board, kayak etc.
Do you think any owners would want one?

What are you attaching your load to at the windscreen end ?

I dont want one as I bought my car for driving not for use to transport goods but I'm intrigued !

At the windscreen I was going to put a spacer to stop any damage. There are some that fit on the windscreen or there are some that are drilled into the frames. I thought the idea was better than the ones out there at the moment.
