Hi guys. Last night I had to turn around and head home after my drivers side front caliper was sticking on my 5. I've had this problem before on the same break and replaced the caliper with a used one from a specialist mx5 breakers on eBay. It seemed to happen this time as a result of slamming on when I was on the motorway.

Has anyone else had continued problems with a sticking caliper? What's the chances of a caliper failing again on the same wheel? Could it be something else?

Thanks in advance everyone!

Did you replace the slide-pins when you replaced the calliper?

Sorry I should have made it clearer - I supplied the part and a garage near me fitted it so not sure I'm afraid!

Ah, I suspect not then. And they should have used the correct grease but again, maybe not.

Lazza may well have hit the nail on the head, but when I had this happen there didn't seem much wrong with the sliding pins. I fixed it by stripping & cleaning the caliper & re-assembling it with new seals. The caliper you bought from the breakers might need this doing too.
