Not really looking at buying another one but this one come up for sale down in cardiff from a dealer wanting rid of it and it looked to good to leave it there. So went down viewed it and bought it for just 600 quid. It has very little rust on it, the rear sills is just starting to bubble but will get it sorted asap but apart from that nothing. Comes with some few nice mods, tr lane roll bar, coilovers not sure on make, front lip on the bumper, rear spoiler, cobreau bucket seats, momo steering wheel and a few other bits and pieces.

and both mx5s together

It's a lot nicer than my 2nd one less rust so got to decided now what to do with them i also got my 1st mx5 up the garage turning slowly into a kit car. A couple of bad points brakes need a overhaul, repaint rear bumper scuffed on the n/s, rear window split and drivers seat is not secured that well apart from that a tidy car. Hopefully will have both mx5 and kit car down for japfest.

Thanks wasn't planning on getting another one but while scanning the classifieds found this on gumtree by a trader and wanted rid got it down to 600 from 700 quid so it think the plan will be too tart my green one up and sell on in the spring then transfer the blue and run that as it's a lot better condition too.

I love that blue, it's one of the best colours I've ever seen on a car and really suits the mk1 well. I't a shame they stopped using it after a couple of years? (93?).

I'm jealous of people with more than one car. I don't have a drive way or garage and have to pay for a parking permit for my road so can't afford to have more than one frown

Yeah it is a very cool colour (slightly biased opinion as I have one). And yes it did stop after 1993 due to being unpopular! Silver apparently even outsold it in 1991.

Only other car I have ever seen in the uk with same wheels as mine!

They are sebrings made by rays engineering, they are pretty rare.

Nice looking mx5 you got there. I wasn't sure on the make of wheels so thanks for telling me. Nice knowing that not many mx5 have these wheels.

So got this up to my unit today as I have a week of to sort out what it needs, first job was to remove the roof and swap it over from my green mx5, also put in my newly bought black leather seats some pictures

So both together ready for the swap over

Roof of not in bad condition underneath couple of touch ups

Looks a lot better with the new roof

Inside just needs a good clean but overall its spot on

Got it up on the ramp needs new brakes and lines all round new springs and shocks will show a picture when off, got a new exhaust to go on and de-cat pipe and weld the rear outer sills apart from that no other rust which im happy with.

Will update tomorrow.

So got it up on the ramp brilliant

but was witnessed to this

Yes the shock has snapped and 3 of the springs have snapped in 3 places each so it will be going back on to oem springs/shocks.
Due to the springs the chassis rails looks in a bad state

lucky enough only surface rust, so cleaned it up treated it with rust treatment and painted

Next up removed the back box and cat ready for the new exhaust and the back bumper

Surprisingly lack of rust aswel which im happy with

new exhaust and de-cat pipe on

Also replaced all the brake lines to copper ones.

Next few jobs are swap over the bumper skins and paint it, re-paint the wheels fit new suspension and a general service and took a quick video of the exhaust sounds good
