Looks like a G-Ltd to me, but you can check on the sticker on the drivers door shut. Also, they aint BBS wheels.

But don't let that worry you, it's common for dealers to be unaware of the various Jap spec editions.

3 things to check carefully:

1) Rust
2) Rust
3) Rust

If it's in good nick, go for it!

Also, I'm pretty sure they didn't come with rear electric windows laugh

The other things that stood out to me where the electric rear windows and isofix points... So I'm not trusting the spec all that much!

I will hopefully be getting down there today to have a look see.

In terms of value, is it there or there abouts?

Value is good if it stacks up on inspection. I guess they just want rid of a part ex.

This is not their usual stock, so you can understand that they might not be up to speed with mid 90s imports.

These should always be bought on condition, so ignore what the dealer tells you and make your own decision.

It's a G Limited, so good spot there!

www.dandycars.com/Frequently_Asked_Questions/Japan...

Is the suspension stiff on them? It'll be 2nd car / toy.

Think they have the non-Bilstein shocks which will be more compliant. However on a car that old they may well have been changed so have a look underneath.

Those look like the cloth seats out of a Mk2. They're possibly the worst seats that were available in an MX-5, although it's possible that a small %age of owners like them.

Didn't make it, my little boy thought that the time we were about to leave was 15 minutes too late and fell asleep before we left. So it through our plans into disarray! I'll pop by first thing tomorrow morning as it's on my way to work.

Following the link above to Dandy Cars and the description of the G Limited, it's interesting how cars get changed over the course of their lives. Mine is a G Limited but somewhere along the way its wheels have been changed, the hood has been replaced and the rather nasty steering wheel it came with was the first thing I junked. I can't tell if mine ever had the chrome door mirrors or the front fog lights but it certainly doesn't now. It does, however, have the satellite blue paint, an LSD and the suede-like seats, which I treasure!

For sure, I'll let you know what I thought of it if I don't pick it up.

Is there anything in particular that you would like me to look at?

This car was first shown in the Bargain Basement thread a coupl of weeks avo. Looks like a good deal, if no rust etc. I'm looking to buy a bicycle for more than that....but was half tempted to buy this instead. I put my sensible hat on, and didn't go to have look at it. smile

Without wishing to sound flippant, I have a camera lens that I could swap for this car and still have a few hundred pound in change! If you have been following my exploits on the Bargin thread, I've been dithering over buying something too long now...

So I just called to arrange to pop down and look at the car.

The dealer said no as there is 'too much snow and we don't have the keys anyway, there are in a customers car that was sold at the weekend'.

I'll be going on Wednesday.
