Hi folks

Here I am back in MX5 ownership for the second time

I have owned a '96 1.8 since new, on Northern Ireland plates. However the re-registration fee in Ireland has killed it, the fee being more than the car is worth. So I have bought a replacement car, a '93, already reg'd in Ireland. I am now in the process of swapping over the best bits of the '96 onto the '93. Also, terminal rust on the '96 negates its usefulness.

Might surprise you guys, but I am also using this as an excuse to move from turbo to NA ! Kinda want to go through the love affair with the '5 all over again.

The '96 has a Flyin' Miata FM2 kit installed, with Link ECU (obiwan). Was making 242hp, but I dialled it back to about 202hp and 180lb/ft as that suited the car best.

Any idea how much the turbo kit is worth if I were to sell it ? Comes with 440cc injectors, dual-feed fuel rail, FM intercooler, etc etc

The '93 - obviously needing lowered !

The '96

FM2

All the best

Frank

Cheers !
Based in Lucan, on the west of Dublin. Yeah, I am on the mx5ireland forum as 'franksm' also.

The 'new' car is a 1.6. I am going to take it back to my favourite configuration - JR cold-air-intake with a 4-2-1 manifold and stainless catback. I am missing the turbo already, unfortunately. If I can get a few more horsepower out of the 1.6, I'll be happy.

A decent used M45 supercharger kit (complete) for ~180bhp gets up £1K. However, this can get away without an intercooler or ECU.

If your kit is totally complete, then I would ask £2K for it and see what interest you get.

p.s. Nice wheels on the '93.

p.p.s I got fed up with forced induction on mine and went back to N/A, albeit with a different engine so I could keep the power.

I'm in lucan too! Keep an eye out for me in a black 92 eunos! That setup sounds like exactly what I want for mine! I wouldn't go turbo because the kit costs more than the car!

Class - these cars are rare enough, so I think I have seen your motor around the Griffeen area. I normally barge around in this, in case you see someone waving like a loon for no particular reason from a non-MX5
