Yes, as long as you don't mind the 90bhp.

Double check for rust all over.

The RH sill has been welded and RH rear panel is showing signs of paintwork peel - seller suggested £100-200 fix. Otherwise, it's in good nick generally. 90bhp is fine. I'll mainly be doing city driving and sometimes popping into the country!

Don't buy it if it is at all rusty.

Is there such a thing as a non rusty mk1? I'm my exp, they are either:

1/ Rusting but not showing yet.

2/ Rusting and showing.

3 Rusted and fixed, which buys, what? 5-6 years max till is comes on as visiable rust again.

Rust isnt a killer, its just expensive to keep on top of.

Thanks for your help! I bought the car as it seems like a pretty good example. I've not found any rust yet, but I'm pretty sure there'll be some somewhere! All part of the charm!

Just keep on top of the rust, don't just let it go and when you do address it, do it properly. It will be ok.
