Chopped Rear Bumper
Discussion
Whilst my car was off the road I had a go at cutting the bottom portion of my rear bumper. The main reason being to get rid of that horrible UK spec, off -centre, rear fog light (driver's side reverse light gets used as the fog).
Getting the bumper off was surprsingly easy with only eight bolts holding it to the ends of the chassis legs, plus a couple of screws at each wheel arch. The hardest part was marking out where to cut. In my case it was measure about 20 times, nervously cut once.
Apparently it helps reduce the build up of pressurised air at the rear of the car and thus, increase stability, when travelling at speed but I haven't noticed any improvement other than aesthetic.
