Morning,

I attempted to fit mk2 coilovers into my mk1 yesterday but i can't get the spring to fit through the front upper wishbone.

Got the standard spring and strut out and the coilover in but it's like the spring is too big to fit through where the old strut was.

I tried fitting the top hat and nuts into the strut tower first then doing the bottom bolt up but the same thing and vice versa.

I've lengthened the coilver so there is no pressure on the spring too to try it it more length. Still no luck, ANyone know where i am going wrong? Cheers.

I fitted mk2 cheapo coilovers and top mounts to my mk1. It's a bit of a squeeze. I managed it by fully unwinding the seats that the springs sit on to get them in. If you can't do that then you'll probably have to separate the top wishbone from the hub assembly.
