Electric Window isn't working.. Still making noise though
Discussion
My windows have always been a bit sluggish, but my drivers side window finally stopped working and stayed in the closed position.
If I use the switch there is a clicking sound from the motor that only lasts a few seconds, but the window doesn't move at all. I opened the door up to have a look and I can only see one cable (in the centre of the door) which appears to be fine, it has tension when the window is up fully. Is there another cable somewhere? I've heard that can be an issue.
Also the window will move freely about an inch or two on the runners if I move it by hand..
Any ideas what might be wrong?

There are two cables. One goes straight up, and IIRC the other goes off at a 90 degree angle from the motor.
It will most definitelt be the cables that have munched themselved. New ones can be picked up from MX5 parts for £40 per side
Both my windows have shat themselves and I cannot find the correct amount of arsed, or courage to pay £80 to repair them. Not when opening the door to do whatever task needs to be done witht he window down is equally as efficient!
