need help asap

i bought a mongoose cat bak bak for my mx5 an just read that it dont fit mk2.5. mine is on 02 plate so wot the diff between mk2 an 2.5. any ideas wot to do or if it will fit or i wasted 200 quid!!!

Not sure about the actual part, but the Mk2 is between 1998-2000, the Mk2.5 cars are 2001 and onwards. A lot of it is the same, but the 1.8l in the Mk.2.5 has VVT (variable valve timing) and so a little extra power. They're also known as NB (mk.2) and NBFL (mk. 2.5).

Mk2.5 manifold, cat & mid-pipe are different from Mk2 but back box should be the same. All very different to Mk1 though.

So is it a "Mk2" back box? If so it should fit.
