MX-5 - I'm missing you!
Discussion
I had a 2000X 1.8iS for 5 years until 2005 when I traded it for a Z4.
Went out yesterday with a pal who wanted to buy a 2002 Phoenix (£3295, 48k miles, from an unfranchised dealer in case you were wondering); I took the wheel and within nano seconds of the first gear change had a broad grin on my face and came over nostalgic. Thoroughly enjoyed it, more so than my BMW (I'd take the supreme tactility of the manual change over SMG any day).
Only disadvantage is that I cannot remember the Mazda feeling so cramped (I was driving with splayed legs), so can only assume I have become a fat bar steward now! Sadly for this reason a Mk 2 will not be on the shopping list, a truly great car. If I had fitted comfortably, a lifelong friendship may have been tested - I would have been sorely tempted to tell my mate that it was a crock of Fisons... and then bought it from under his nose.
Motoring at its purest, and most fun.

Buy it and put in a slimmer seat, or do a foamectomy on the one that's in there.Went out yesterday with a pal who wanted to buy a 2002 Phoenix (£3295, 48k miles, from an unfranchised dealer in case you were wondering); I took the wheel and within nano seconds of the first gear change had a broad grin on my face and came over nostalgic. I drove mine at the weekend for the first time in months and the pleasure was enormous. I'll be moving house in the next few months and will then get to drive it whenever I like. Hooray!!
