Hi I'm 20, have been to see a rust free eunos 1.6 1990. But the insurance is nearly double my 2.0 Clio. I'm with adrimal. Any advice.
Thanks

Get a UK spec Mx5.
I bought mine at 19 and the difference between the Eunos and MX5 was over £1k!
Stupid really considering they're exactly the same car. That's imports for you.

Change insurance company. Phone around. Check one of the many threads on here for suggestions. Don't believe the naysayers. smile

Had mine insured with Direct Line as they don't differentiate between Mazda and Eunos so it cost me no more or less for the fact it was an import, you just key the reg number and it quotes from that alone.

At 20 the cheapest companies are Admiral/Elephant/Bell group, I'm assuming that's where your quote is from. My advice still stands as direct line are extortionate for younger drivers!

Get a quote from Green light insurance they're on mx5nutz!

No where comes close to there prices!

I pay £1300 for a heavily modified mk1 mx5 turbo, like for like replacement of all mods. With a large claim against me which was within 3 years when I got the insurance. I also had no NCB as I was on a motor trader policy.

I'm 23.

Say you heard about them on mx5nutz and you get a discount.

Try Peter James, specialist classic insurance.

I'm with them on my Eunos, £105 fully comp unlimited mileage. I do however have another car and I'm 40 year old!

Another one here for Greenlight. Neil is fantastic. Very helpful guy. My daily modified mk1 for 12k miles per year is £460 fully comp for 12 months. With an own fault claim in the last 3 years.

My Eunos is insured as a classic car (so no NCB) fully comp with quite a few mods and costs about £200 a year via Performance Direct - http://www.performancedirect.co.uk/

My 1992 V-Spec is insured with RH Classic for £146 per year full comp, nine-year no-claims bonus. The service is fantastic.
