on my way in to work this morning some kind soul tapped me from behind - the old classic at a roundabout, I didnt go into a gap, the bloke behind thought I had gone. impact was very light but two things happened.

the passenger door popped open a little bit (didn't fully open, but was ajar by about 10mm), and I hit my head on one of the roof support bars.

there is no visible damage to the car - not even a scratch on the rear bumper. everything feels solid and car drives fine. not shut lines or panel damage can be seen. I cant be arsed to follow it up but should I be worried for any reason? gut feel says the door popping is just a minor thing and nowt to worry about. its a mk3.5

the other thing worries me more, hitting my head on the roof bar. its still painful and I know ive done it. at the low speed impact that's fine but im a bit worried now about a harder shunt. any anecdotal evidence of this being a problem?

Empty the boot carpet & have a good look round, also underneath.

when you say roof bar, do you mean roll bar? It's whats stopping me from getting one even though i quite want one.

No, he'll be talking about the roof structure itself. It's not uncommon to catch your head on it. I used to do that over bumps until I got a lower seat and I know of someone who spun into the barrier at the 'ring and peeled his head quite nicely on the roof bars. Moral there is to always drive with the top down - there is no excuse this week!

Is it a soft top mk3.5?

There isn't that much clearance to the support bars within the roof structure. If I get into my car after my girlfriend has been driving it, my head brushes against these bars, returning the seat to its lowest position fixes it.
