So, my mk1 had a dodgy battery terminal which wouldn't tighten properly. so, stupidly I bought a new terminal and cut the old one off before the crimp.

Worked ok for a bit, but, the lead is really too short and has been disconnecting itself. I've no idea what I should do, as its not really a solderable cable.

Ideas on a postcard please.

Replace the whole lead? Not sure how long that would have to be or where it would lead to though.

Make a little extension from the battery terminal using solid copper bar. Just make sure it won't short to earth.

dead easy ! fit an isolator on the boot as an anti theft device , put it on the end of your lead then just put a short lead to the terminal.

HAd a go at the weekend, managed to free up a centimetre of slack, which was all I needed. Hopefully it doesn't jump off now! cheers!
