MK2 owners - need some help

Hi guys

I've gotten myself into somewhat of a stew. I have been slowly, over the last 6 weeks, doing a winter overhaul of my mk2 1.8. Cambelt change and all the oil, dicac and pads, etc

I've mostly reassembled everything, but have gone and lost the pictures I took at the very beggining.

I'm just about to put the air intake cross pipe back, but I've two wiring harness brackets left over! They are both floating around the top of the cam cover on the pas side of the engine. One of the electronic plugs just runs to a weird plastic block that has a screw with it to attach it somewhere.

Its completely off the car at the moment and I can't work out what its for or where it goes

I've hunted online but can't find my specific engine photographed in enough detail

Could any mk2 owner take me a photo of the area above the pas pump, particularly showing any wiring harness brackets and where they attach. I'd be incredibly grateful.

Excellent. That top picture has answered one of my questions!!

I will get a picture up ASAP to explain the rest.

Forgive the crap picture, but this is what I have left over. At the other end of this there is a fixing bracket and a multi plug, and I've no idea where to mount it!

To top it off, the car also won't start! It just spins over on the starter but wont fire. Surely this thing can't be the reason why??

Anyway, any ideas?

That's your crankshaft position sensor. It should be bolted to the front of the cam cover down by the pulleys. It won't run without it.

Ah! Any more detail on where it bolts? Damn camera losing all my pictures.

Sorry mate, meant to ask on Mazdamenders.net to see if someone had a picture. I had a look through mine and couldn't see anything that would help much.
