I don't know if they ever made a factory manual one, so I'd have my doubts.
IIRC its a pretty heavy, relatively torquey low revving engine (but very smooth). General consensus seems to be that the 2.5 KL-ZE from the MX6 is better suited to an MX5 transplant than the KJ-ZEM.
