I'm looking to buy an MX-5. I owned one a few years ago and now want to revisit the fun.

The car I'm looking at is a 2006 MX-5, 2 litre. soft top, not retractable hard top, 58,000 miles. £48000

It has a reasonable MOT history, just the usual tyres and brakes.

Last year it failed its MOT in May due to corrosion on the rear suspension (no surprise there!) It has since been repaired.

Is it worth the risk?

My advice, find a cheaper one!

£4800. Thanks for advice. It did seem a tad expensive, but it is in Surrey.

That's still a lot of money for a 2006 model. I'd be looking to get as new as you can as the NC had improvements in 2009, 2011 and 2013 during its life.

And it really makes a difference how that rust was repaired, if plated over avoid. If cut out, replaced and properly protected then maybe but not at that price.
