How do you remove rear discs?

I'm trying to get the rear discs off my '5 and not having much luck. Any tips?

This is a US guide for upgrading brakes but it still covers removing the old discs (or rotors as the Americans insist on calling them). Seems to say they can bind to the hubs sometimes and suggests judicious use of a hammer...!
