I am no wimp (I hope) but the roof is tricky to pull up from the drivers seat in my car, is this a common foible or is there a technique to make life easier?

I must confess I've never tried putting it up (ooooer) when sat in the drivers seat. I'll give it a go tomorrow and tell you!

Coming from a Boxster and the luxury of a leccy roof it was just second nature to close it from inside. Strangely the wife seems able to do it no problem for gods sake.

i have a roll over bar which gets in the way so i need to lift myself up out of the seat in order to get the arm reach over the bar.

does the movement of the hood feel stiff or quite free? because i believe they should feel quite free so it is only the weight you are lifting and not any other resistance too. maybe go round with a can of WD40 on all the joints?

No problems here.

What does amaze me though is the difference the hot weather makes to how quickly the hood falls down, that black vinyl soaks up an amazing amount of heat.

I cant do it by just reaching back with left hand. So I twist around and use my right hand from the drivers seat.

I want an Elise!

I have this problem too. I just kinda push myself up in the seat a bit (using the drivers footrest) and reach over with my right arm. No probs !

I was thinking that too!

I turn round in the seat to get a more natural angle on it. I'm sure a couple of years ago I could just reach behind my head and get hold of the ahndle in the centre of the windscreen rail, must have been much stronger then!

Undo seatbelt, shift arse slightly more towards middle of car, reach back with both hands, find handle, yank.

Be careful with your back though!
