Some SEAT related questions.....

I currently have 'standard' leather seats in my MK1 Eunos. I quite like the idea of changing them for the seats out of a MK 2.5 'Arizona' as I prefer the look of them, they give more comfort and are heated I believe!

What I would like to know is, are they a straight swap, i.e I can use the same runners and they will bolt straight on?

Am I right in thinking the MK2.5 seat/seat base is higher than a MK1 so in effect I would be sitting higher??

And lastly would it take much to wire up the heated seat element in my car?

All MX5 seats are interchangeable. Mk2.5 seats will easily fit on Mk1 runners. The runners changed at some point so that later Mk1s onwards had the seat-belt stalk attached to the runners. This isn't a problem though - the seats still fit just fine.

Mk2.5 seats are more comfortable than previous seats but are deeper in the base & back so you will lose a bit of leg-space and will sit higher.

I believe it is possible to wire in the heated elements but can't point you in the direction of anyone who has done it. Ask on Nutz, I'm sure if it's been done in UK it'll be on there somewhere, otherwise try Miata.net.

I actually have a pair of Mk2.5 seats up for sale at the moment - light grey with dark grey (almost black) piping

As my original seat cover were getting tatty ive just fitted a set of mk2 seat covers on my mk1 seats , only difference is the headrest is slightly bigger on the mk2 , still think they are damn comfy

I was only joking. Think I might stick with the MK1 seats for the time being as I don't really want to be sitting any higher.
