09 Facelifted MX5 - what do we think of it?
Discussion
Intrigued by this new version of the Mk3: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/2341...
EVO seem to really rate the revised chassis, and I like the look of it. Very like an S2000.
Anyone driven one? Has the MX5 got its mojo back?

I love the look of the new one!
It looks longer, or looks like the cabin is further back and a longer bonnet.. I know its probably not, but looks alot slower and sleaker.
Very nice!
Jonny - lets hope its not a lot "slower" It looks longer, or looks like the cabin is further back and a longer bonnet.. I know its probably not, but looks alot slower and sleaker.

) !
I meant.. Lower

Just read the review and am very happy to see the results, it looks like Mazda took on board the criticisms of its first attempt at the Mk3 and put right most of the wrongs (other manufacturers take note).
I like the looks and the idea of using a front engined rear drive roadster every day. I think colour will make a big difference to this car too and would like to see on in BRG and one in Black as I have never really been a fan of Red on MX-5's
All in all it looks like a much improved version of the roadster and proof that even in a world full of legislation against them, some manufacturers can still build great cars. Well done Mazda, from a potential future customer.

No problem!
I prefer the Hardtop to the Soft-Top just because when the roof is up it looks alot more sleak and smooth and when the roof is down it looks alot tidier.
I haven't driven one of these new auto-gearbox ones yet though!
Auto gearbox on an MX5! If u order one with that you should be shot unless you spend 90% of the time in London I prefer the Hardtop to the Soft-Top just because when the roof is up it looks alot more sleak and smooth and when the roof is down it looks alot tidier.

Manual, short gearstick and a close gearbox is what it should be left alone with.
But alot of people who buy the MX-5.. Not being 'ageist' but are over 40, it seems they retire and buy one for some reason.. We get alot of people like that in looking at them.
So they prefer the Auto 'Box.
