Intrigued by this new version of the Mk3: http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/2341...

EVO seem to really rate the revised chassis, and I like the look of it. Very like an S2000.

Anyone driven one? Has the MX5 got its mojo back?

I love the look of the new one!

It looks longer, or looks like the cabin is further back and a longer bonnet.. I know its probably not, but looks alot slower and sleaker.

Very nice!

I prefer it to the Mk3 but I still prefer the earlier models. Most of the mags rate the new one now though so it should be a good purchase.

we know what you meant smile

It does look a lot lower than the gen 1 Mk 3. The wheels sit better in the arches. I might take one out for a test drive as I reckon it'd be a great all-round commuter and trackday car and wouldn't break the bank....

Just read the review and am very happy to see the results, it looks like Mazda took on board the criticisms of its first attempt at the Mk3 and put right most of the wrongs (other manufacturers take note).

I like the looks and the idea of using a front engined rear drive roadster every day. I think colour will make a big difference to this car too and would like to see on in BRG and one in Black as I have never really been a fan of Red on MX-5's

All in all it looks like a much improved version of the roadster and proof that even in a world full of legislation against them, some manufacturers can still build great cars. Well done Mazda, from a potential future customer.

Not amazing quality because I uploaded it from my phone.

No problem!

I prefer the Hardtop to the Soft-Top just because when the roof is up it looks alot more sleak and smooth and when the roof is down it looks alot tidier.

I haven't driven one of these new auto-gearbox ones yet though!

Auto gearbox on an MX5! If u order one with that you should be shot unless you spend 90% of the time in London smile

Agreed.. Its not on!

Manual, short gearstick and a close gearbox is what it should be left alone with.

But alot of people who buy the MX-5.. Not being 'ageist' but are over 40, it seems they retire and buy one for some reason.. We get alot of people like that in looking at them.

So they prefer the Auto 'Box.

I still prefer the look of the 2.5 just dont like them headlights. They look odd to me, might have a look at one in the flesh tho. The bonnet too looks odd, why cant the make a fibreglass front the folds forward as an option?

To be fair the auto-box is one of those with paddles on the steering wheel to change gear. EVO didn't like that option though...

Oddly enough White looks good too. Doesn't look great in photos but looks very nice in the flesh.

Really like these too - I think they're the best looking MX-5 after the mk.1.

Spec wise, I'd be most tempted by the 2.0 Sport, soft-top with manual gearbox, in that yellow colour. lick

i like to too, and like people have said will be cheap to run and insure

I like the blue and silver best smile

Might get one in a few years, probably the folding hard top and cats love to sit on the soft tops and that would wind me up!
