Is that a split in the rear screen?

I'm pretty naive when it comes to secondhand car buying, but isn't selling a car without an MOT generally accepted as admitting you know it won't pass one without some expensive work?

If not, why wouldn't you put it through one for the sake of £50 and sell it with a year's MOT on it? confused

I didn't claim it was a minter - that back bumper looks dented too. But for a FI track car or a project, where you'll be overhauling most things anyway... £550 tells me it's in 'make me an offer and please just take it away' territory'.

edit: and because they've put it as an MX2 (?!) it doesn't show up on the search filter, so they've probably not had much interest if that's their only advert...

I'm actually looking for a MX-5 project car, but I can't insure it for various reasons until the end of feb, what is the law like on me fetching it and sticking it in my garage for 2 months uninsured? (Also given i'd have it around 50 miles home first?)

It has no tax or mot so it's illegal to drive it on the road regardless of insurance - in fact even if you had insurance it wouldn't cover an car with no mot.

True, but, but, hmm, no you're right, it's only legal to drive straight to an MOT centre if you're insured, which I wouldn't be. Hence, I wait.

I hope so - I'd prefer one was saved rather than scrapped by a non-enthusiast owner smile
