Lower seats for a Mk2.5
Discussion
I sat in a Mk2.5 today and, as I suspected, found it a wee bit tight (i'm 6'4" ish). There was more legroom than I was expecting, but I still found the same irk that my current car has; with my foot on the clutch my left hand hits my left leg when I turn the wheel.
The more surprising problem was that I was too high up. It didn't help that the car's back wheels were up on a kerb, but I had to tilt my head to the side to get a suitable view forward.
I've seen the threads with Elise seats substituted in, but with the greatest respect this method looked a bit Heath Robinson. Does anyone have any experience of these seats used by Performance5 and know whether they help out with the taller customer? http://www.performance5.com/interior_seats.asp
Thanking you.

I've talked to Phil (Performance5) a lot about seats over the years and he's never mentioned these seats to me so I can only assume that they are no longer being offered.
Mk2.5 seats are higher than all other models. They are lovely if you are small enough but I had to swap mine out as I could only just fit and I'm 2" shorter than you.

I did wonder as the last update was four years ago - I emailed them to ask.
I know the wife of someone I work with has a non-facelift Mk2, so i'll see if I can engineer them bringing it in so I can have a sit in it
. It would be preferable to buying a car and immediately having to give it away to have the seats replaced.
Cheers.

Richard, prior to my '5 purchase I had a quick discussion regarding seats with a chap on here.
He said the Mk2 was much better for him because of the extra leg-room over the Mk 2.5.
That wasn't a consideration for me!
ETA Check the first few posts here.

Thanks Luke, looks like I might just manage with a Mk2 then. Otherwise I might be back to square one with deciding what I want next. Like the look of yours - very smart! Out of interest, do you know what the wheels are called that you have? Only asking as they're the ones that suit the car most in my view.
Hope you're well.

I know someone who is selling a set soon (about 150quid IIRC), so dont let that stop you getting a mk2. Hope you're well.

15"ers are better for tyre choice and cost.
