So why not this year?

In relation to this thing here -

http://pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f...

I think we concluded that somewhere very roughly Midlands/Oxford-ish was going to be the best place for the majority.

So what do we fancy?

A couple of ideas off the top of my head

- Camping trip (surely no-one who owns an MX5 is going to be an anti-camping Hotel wimp?) with a bit of a hoon out, and/or trip to some suitable event, motor race, car show, etc?

- Tagging on to some other, existing event, and going down as 'the PH MX5 massive (innit) ? Perhaps one of the PH sunday Services?

- Rolling Road day somewhere?

- Silverstone? Camp out at that place over the road (name evades me) for a night, have a run out one day and a day at the British GT's or whatever?

- As a curveball, an Alignment day at WIM? As far as I'm aware Tony at WIM is keen to run these 'club' days and has done it in the past.

And of course theres the problem of arranging a date! Summer, obviously!
Suggestions, ideas, all welcome. I'll happily fire off a bunch of emails and spend a few hours doing some research.

Simon,

Added my name to the list today, and would definitely be up for the WIM meet in the Spring / Summer time.

Tagging onto another event would also be cool.

Tuttle, at the top of the Wiki page is a little button that says 'update article'.

Just click that then you can edit the list. Scroll to the bottom and copy the format that others have used.

Still on from last time.

I'd suggest a sat meet and hoon, sat night camp in proximity to a nice country pub for grub n drinkies, up early Sunday for a daybreak drive and then heading offin our own directions.

Silverstone Classic 23-25th July?

If booking before the end of March there are savings to be had;

http://www.mx5oc.co.uk/forum/forums/t/12005.aspx

£70.00 for a 3-day Pass (for 2 people (and 1 x car entry to the circuit/OC car park))

???

That sounds like a decent idea.... i'd be up for that I think - how much is camping on top of the entry ticket?

Come on folks lets put some proper thought into this one......

Would be great to have a proper PH MX5 meet, the weathers getting good - not quite good enough for camping yet but its getting there.

If people don't want to go to an organised event I think a night at a campsite would be great.

May is probably a bit early.

June has Le mans

July has FOS & British Grand Prix, but August is likley to be full of holidays and kis and caravans and things.

So how about a provisional time of sometime after Le Mans, but before the FOS?

Or if thats totally incompatible - lets start suggesting some other dates.
