Noticed a gap between the rear bumper and and the body developing which has got worse today as it is sagging further and pulling the side mud guards with it! Any ideas on how i can push it back up safely and keep it in place?

If that is your answer to any post requesting help, then I vote for you as most useful member of the year.

I don't think I needed to reword my post that much to make people understand I just wanted some advice on how to fix it....i.e. where are the bolts that hold it on; anyone had this problem etc.

But thanks anyway.

Except that's for a Mk2 and he has a Mk1.

Ha, good point well made Mark.

Had a look underneath - established it is certainly not going to fall off anytime soon so I have a bit of time to work out how to raise it back up.

I think the Mk2 is mounted in a similar way. There are probably some plastic clips on the sides that hold it in place and I suspect one of these is broken.

thumbup

Will go with that theory and try and take the whole thing off to get a better look. Just a bit time consuming and could probably do with another pair of hands to hold the damn thing so it does not fall on my head!

Ooh handy.

I need one of these seeing as I've just been smashed up the arse and shoved into another car in the MX5.

Got one for the front too?

ETA: S'long as it's for a Mk1.
