Has your MK1 passed an MOT without a CAT?
Discussion
Yes, although it took some convincing! 92 (J) Eunos
I believe the cut off for UK cars is 1992- mine wouldn't have qualified if it were UK version.
For imports, I think it is pre 94. You have to prove it is an import.
There are quite a few useful threads on nutz about this complete with copies of the testing regs etc.

Thanks I thought as much. I'm off to Sam Goodwin's on Thursday so I'll quiz him about it. My GTFour passed no problems without a CAT and that was also a 94 but on an L. As for proving it to be an import, the documentation, original bill of sale in Japan and the auction sheet should do nicely. Not to mention the Japanese sweet wrappers I found tucked up in the ash tray.
ive got a 1992 k reg 99 import.. bought it about a month ago.. the last owner was made to buy a cat for it to pass the mot(it says mazda eunos on the v5).
I'm going to put a decat pipe on it, so all i need to do is prove that it is an import? i don't have the original proof of sale from japan. is there any other document i could get?
cheers
