Sealed the deal today, moving from my Mk1 Ltd Edition 'Merlot' to a Mk2 '10th Anniversary'.

Car is close to immaculate and has only covered 29k since new, with the last owner having the car for 8 years. Absolutely love the colour too -

Lovely.

Chrome wheels aren't usually my taste but against the blue they look good. smile

Yeah, likewise. To be honest, I'm still not 100% on the wheels but we'll see. At first I didn't like the blue/black interior, but it grew on me in the space of a week between the test drive and putting the deposit down.

Does this mean you're going to have to change your name now?

That looks ace, would be tempted to trade my Merlot in for one of those too.

It was a difficult choice, as I have the Merlot just the way I like it.

However, what swung it for me was the slicker 6-speed box, bilstein suspension, LSD and a few goodies such as electric wondows. Plus the fact it has only done 29k vs my Merlot which has covered 83k.

The Mk1 is a fantastic weekend toy, but he Mk2 makes better sense as a daily driver year-round.

Cracking colour bow Looks very tidy. I'll be very interested to hear your driving/ownership experiences between Mk1 & 2 after you've had it a while.

I love that colour, it's great. Can I ask if you paid what it was on offer for, or is that poor etiquette?

Did any of the 10AE's have air con fitted, or being a special edition was it not possible to spec extra items?

Good choice of mk2 wink. And you've got the mats too, quite often they are missing.

The 10AE didn't have air con, never seen one with it so not sure if you could get it as an option extra.

All MX5s have always had the option of AC so a 10AE with AC is not impossible but I've never seen one. AC seems to have become more popular since around 2000 and becomes easier to find the newer you look. There are a lot of Mk2 imports (including a few 10AE - it's an international special edition) and most of those do have AC wink
