How many miles/how often do you drive your mx5?

Is it reserved as a weekend toy, or do you sometimes use it as a daily?

I'm on the verge of getting one, I often have access to another car.. But would probably be keeping it as a weekend/good weather car..

Quite a lot - use it as a daily, but try to avoid it for long journeys.

If you want to do longer journeys, avoid imports with the Bilstein suspension - it's just too hard riding for crap UK roads.

When I had my Eunos roadster I did a whopping 1000 miles per year. Enjoyed everyone though! smile

My old standard one got used whenever I possibly could. Turbonutter one I have now doesn't get used as much, its closer to a weekend toy.

Have you got another one? Or is this when you had the one I looked at (and should have bought!)

The Mk1 has been mainly a summer car - used soley between April - September, and then garaged for the rest of the year. I usually cover 2-3k in this time, as I get 9 weeks holiday in these 6 months.

The Mk2, which I pick up in about 1.5 hours (biggrin) will be a daily driver year round, covering about 6-7k per annum.

Daily 50 mile snotter for me. Huge fun on some of the roundabouts I have to negotiate on the way to work. Now we have replaced the roof I can even have the roof down! Yay! woohoo

It replaced my beloved Mini. Doing a good job so far too.

I had a Mk1 Berkeley for 7 years which was a daily drive before buying the current Mk2.5 Sport which was also a daily drive for 2 years before I bought a Focus as I'd changed jobs and had a boring busy motorway slog to work. That job only lasted 3 months before I jumped ship to a much better job that is 20 miles of country lanes from home but I've kept the Focus and just use the '5 when the weather looks a bit nicer (it is used all year though).

Monday-Friday 20 miles a day, its just NSL the whole way, but nice to sit at 60mph with the roof off whilst all the repmobil's are in such a hurry to get home.

At least one commute per week (100 mile rnd trip) via the back roads, and every trip that doesn't require large loadspace at the weekend (or else the van is used)

It's my daily driver, have put about 6000 miles on since getting it last October. Only time I had to stop using it was in the snow, got stuck far too easily in frozen car parks!

I tend to use it only at the weekends, but that is because I walk to work.

Still, I've managed 10,000 miles since September, I tend to 3/400 miles most weekends, sometimes more!

I bought my 2nd '5 on March 1st @ 127k, in nearly 3 months exactly & I've just hit 8,500 miles...It gets some serious abuse & hasn't wanted for anything aside from oil. It's having a well earned service/full valet next weekend as it's been so ridiculously well behaved.

Just going to work & back is 350 miles a week, normally with the addition of another 150-200 over the weekend...There is rarely a day it doesnt move ever.

But when it does, all roof down of course thumbup

I'm going to have a look at a 1.6 Euphonic after work, to get an idea of the difference compared to the 1.8.

I have my heart set on a Euphonic, but as far as I'm aware they don't have A/C.. Which is something I'm not too sure about..

How is it to live without AC as a daily? I'd always use it in my current car..

Every day normally.
It's more peculiar if it's not moving for me! biggrin
