Thinking of buying a Mk1
Discussion
Many years ago I owned one of the 'Classic' special edition UK 1.8 Mk1 MX-5s. I loved it.
Now I'm in the position to buy an MX-5 once again, and am going up to Berwick-on-Tweed tomorrow to view one of Goodwood Sportscars MX-5s, an imported 1993 1.6 S-Ltd Eunos Roadster: http://www.goodwoodsportscars.co.uk/gallery_308968...
Is there anything that I should look out for especially? I've read the stickied 'Common MX5 Faults / Buying Guide' post, and was wondering if there was anything else that may be specifically applicable to imported Mk1 Eunoses?
Thanks,
Fox.

Main thing to look for is rust really. That seems to be the main achilles heal. Also check the CAS O-ring for leaks.
Other than that, there's not really much to check that you wouldnt check on any other second hand car.
They are generally very reliable. I've spent a fair wedge on mine, but that's mainly refreshing worn out parts.

Thanks for the advice. I went to look at two Mk1s at Goodwood Sportscars, and found Steve to be very straight up, courteous and well-mannered, a pleasant surprise for a second-hand car salesman!Other than that, there's not really much to check that you wouldnt check on any other second hand car.

Both cars I looked at were solid (rust-wise) which was the main worry. In the end I didn't end up buying either his somewhat tatty blue track car (that runs very well indeed), or the pretty good condition Black S-Ltd. If I could have had the S-Ltd drive like his track car, I would have bought it on the spot...
