what are the good ones, what are the ones to avoid, what to look for specifically mechanically / bodily, what gives up, what lasts forever... any hints and tips.


Seeing as it's so highly recommended I presume this info is all readily available, if not already as a compendium so if someone could tell me why search isn't working for me as well, that would be helpful...

Plenty of other places too...

In summary - buy a non-rusty one with a good hood; everything else is fixable/replaceable for pennies.

Green ones are the fastest.

Saying that, the search function is useless. Try searching the pistonheads domain using a google advanced search.
