Will be... painted calipers!

I've seen the rotors, dust shields and calipers can get rusty over time so I'm doing some preventative maintenance this weekend. So... will be painting the rotors and shields black.. and have red for the calipers if I'm feeling brave!

Pics will follow.

don't paint your discs if you want to take it onto track or bed in new pads. it will melt and fly off all over your nicely painted calipers

Bit of a ballache, took two hours to do one wheel. So... I've only done one so far as I only started after the GP hehe

Will do the rest during the week, til then I'm gonna look a little 'odd'!

I changed all 4 brake pads yesterday and while I was in there I cleaned & repainted by callipers. Well, Ok, I repainted them badly (again) but once the wheels are on they look good wink

How the fk did you manage that?! It took me two hours for that one wheel from 4 til 6, then it was World Cup Final time hehe

I found the caliper painting quite fiddly and it required more than one coat (but I didn't wait for it to dry between coats). I did paint the rotors and dust shields as well mind.

It's easy to do it quickly when you aren't worried about doing a good job laugh
Probably took me about 2 hours to do the lot including fitting the pads and cleaning up the ABS sensors (which didn't work - looks like I have a duff sensor frown)
