Hi,

Further to my previous thread, going to see the blue MX-5 mk3 this afternoon. Wonder if there are any common faults or anything to look out for when I get there.

Thanks,

HH

Just check service history etc, listen to the engine if it sounds rattly walk away, get the owner to take you for a spin first to see how they drive, I had one guy tell me he was banned half way round with him driving, and then he nearly side swiped about 3 people.

just nose and poke. look at tyre wear and get a hpi check done.

Nope.

The dealer is useless. Went there yest afternoon - offer for my current car was too low, so he said he'd ring back this morning. Didn't ring so I headed over to see if there was any progress - he told me he'd ring back within the hour. Two hours later I rang them - no reply, so left a message. Still no reply. rolleyes

The car is okay - wheels are all badly kerbed and couple of tyres are basically bald, but other than that it seems okay. Haven't been out in it yet. The problem is I do really want this car (albeit with a discount) but they just don't seem to want my business! Been to three other Mazda dealers today but nothing suitable in my price range... Such a pain.

from what youve said unless you get 1k+ off avoid it, there are enough out there to be picky.
