Fixing a Hood and Window problem in Edinburgh
Discussion
Hi All,
I've just bought a (icon cab) MX5 on Sun. Amazing car to drive! But, I've got a few concerns and wondering if you guys have advice to share; they are:
1. The catch for the hood on the driver's side isn't locking properly. It looks like the plastic groove near the eject button has worn off. Is this easily replaced or do I need a whole new hood? I've just stuck some cardboard to help hold it in place and it has reduced the gap between the hood and car frame. It's not rained yet so I don't know if it's going to leak!
2. The window on the driver's side can't go down all the way. Is it a mechanic or DIY job?
3. Are there garages along the central belt of scotland that fixs mx5s?
cheers,
kelvin

Hi mate, in answer to your questions:
The clips can be replaced.
No idea.
The mx is pretty basic so for most mechanical jobs just choose someone you trust. For bodywork-specific stuff then ask on here or try mx5scotland forum. I have a mate who does all mine but he works for Aston Martin and happens to live in my street
