Mk1 1.6 Cam Belt

Does anyone know of anyone in Milton Keynes or surrounding area that can do a cam belt change on a mk1 1.6 and at what sort of cost? It seems some people are unwilling to do it for some reason.

Which year is your car? If it's an early car i.e. 89-90 then it will probably have a short-nose crank which needs a mechanic who knows what they are doing. If it's a later car then pretty much any decent garage can do it.

Thanks for the reply. It's a K reg, '92. Oddly my local garage said they wouldn't do it and didn;t know of any that would. I'll try a few others.

It's a pretty straightforward job and much easier than a lot of other cars, especially most modern front wheel drive cars!
